2 Days of MPW Madness Coming Your Way!

What a difference a year makes. Massive Damage and "Mr. Intensity" Mark Posey share the stage with Jason Mewes at Sonic Boom 2009
By now, I’m sure you’ve heard the news. Monster Pro Wrestling is appearing at Sonic Boom again this year. That’s a huge deal for us. Last year,
Sonic Boom attracted almost 13,000 fans. Performing in front of that crowd was a real rush. This year, word is that attendance will surpass last year and that’s got all of us here at Monster Pro Wrestling very excited. Saturday, September 4th, 2010 will be a banner day in the history of MPW as we’re going to be performing in front of the largest crowd we’ve ever worked.
What you may not have heard is how much extra preparations go into Monster Pro Wrestling being at Sonic Boom. One of the biggest ones, of course, is that the regular monthly MPW show which normally runs on the first Saturday of each month (which, in September, would be the same day as Sonic Boom) has now been moved to the first Friday of the month. We’ve been having to remind our fans constantly that Legends of the Fall is on Friday, September 3rd.
Yeah, but how much extra work can just a date change and adding the Sonic Boom show cause, you ask? Well, here’s what those two days will be like for us at Monster Pro Wrestling:

The Greatest Intercontinental Champion of All Time -- The Honky Tonk Man will be appearing at both Legends of the Fall and Sonic Boom
Friday at about 1:00 PM, we’ll all meet at the Alberta Avenue Community Hall (9210 – 118 Avenue) to set everything up for the evening. Those big steel pieces that make up a wrestling ring are very heavy and take at least three guys each to maneuver. Once the ring is put together, we still have to set up the ring barriers, all the chairs, the entryway, the PA system, and the kitchen and concession area. That’ll probably take until 4:00 PM or so.
After that, we usually have a couple hours free time. Usually to get something to eat before the show. At the latest, we all have to be back at Alberta Avenue by 6:00 PM. The doors open at 6:30 PM. The show starts at 7:30 PM. Once the show is over, at about 10:30 PM and most of the fans have gone home for the night, we still have to tear down the ring and basically undo everything we did when we set up. The hall has to be cleaned and everything put away before we can go home for some much deserved sleep.
However, with the added Sonic Boom show, instead of storing the ring away, we have to haul it over to Northlands and set it up that night along with the ring barriers and whatever else we’ll need for the Sonic Boom show. It’s going to be a very long night for the MPW Ring Crew.
Then, Saturday morning, we all have to be on the Northlands ground for 10:00 AM. Gates open at 11:00 AM and our first match is at noon. We’ll be there all day. Our last match will be somewhere around 9:00 or 10:00 PM. Then the ring and etc. all has to be torn down and stored away. It’s very likely to be close to 2:00 AM before we all get out of there. Another very long night for the MPW Ring Crew.
Now, don’t get me wrong. We’re not complaining. In fact, we absolutely love show days. There’s constantly excitement in the air with the show only a few hours away. And with two shows in a row, the excitement and anticipation are doubly present. In fact, we’re all looking forward to that weekend in September more than any other weekend this year.
With the Honky Tonk Man and Dan “The Beast” Severn working both Legends of the Fall and Sonic Boom, it’s sure to be an extra-fun weekend. Alberta Avenue is likely to be packed to the rafters and loud as hell. Sonic Boom will be the largest crowd we’ve ever been in front of. And we can’t wait to get there. It’s going to be a blast! For us as well as our fans.
See you there!
MPW’s August show sure to be a Summer Scorcher
MPW Heavyweight Champion, Massive Damage is looking over his shoulder these days with “Mr. Intensity” Mark Posey eyeing his prized belt. Now that Posey has aligned himself with the newly crowned MPW Tag Team Champions “Mr. Beefy Goodness” Vance Nevada and Gorgeous Michelle Starr, things could start to get interesting.
But first, Mark Posey will have to get through MPW Commissioner “The Sicilian Assassin” El Nino. Tempers have been flaring between these two for months. Now they’re going to settle it once and for all. Can El Nino stop “Mr. Intensity” on his way to the MPW Heavyweight Title or will he be just another stepping stone for Mr. Intensity?
Phil Lafon takes on MPW Provincial Champion Jack Hammer in an attempt to add another title to his prestigious title holding record. Can the young Jack Hammer retain his title against this AJPW Legend and former WWE star?
In addition, all your other MPW favorites will be in action: The Guardian, The Canadian Tornado, Sexy Samantha and ASW stars Disco Fury, Raven Lake, and Seth Knight

MPW Management Is Scared of Mr. Intensity!
Massive Damage’s days as the MPW Heavyweight champion are numbered. And he knows it.
Everyone at the June 5th show saw me pin him fair and square right in the middle of the ring. The senior referee, Kevin, counted the pinfall: 1 – 2 – 3. He even awarded me the title. It’s only through the actions of MPW’s biased commissioner, El Nino, that I’m not the MPW Heavyweight champion today. That’s typical of the current MPW management. They’ve coddled their paper champion for far too long — protecting him from title contenders who are a legitimate threat and granting title shots to lesser contenders.
Total Turmoil was a perfect example. I arrived at the arena expecting to take the title belt from Massive in a Taped Fist match. Instead, I’m informed by MPW Owner, Nelson Mayer, because of my actions at the June show, he’s taking my title shot away and putting me in the tag team tournament instead. He says the actions he is referring to were spitting on a kid and using a foreign object to hit Massive Damage. But I know what he’s really talking about — he saw me pin Massive Damage and then raise the title belt over my head as the new MPW Heavyweight Champion and it scared him. He didn’t like it one bit. So he had Nino, as the commissioner, reverse the decision and then went backstage and wiped the sweat off his brow.
And then, at the end of Total Turmoil, he has Nino challenge me to a match at Summer Scorcher! MPW management is in a flat panic. They are trying anything and everything to keep me away from the title that has been rightfully mine since June 5th. (Makes me wonder what they’re going to throw at me next.) But that tactic’s only going to work for so long. Sooner or later, MPW management is going to have to relent and Massive Damage is going to have to step in the ring with Mr. Intensity and defend his title.
And on that day, MPW will be forever changed.
MPW is in Total Turmoil!
Today’s the day. Monster Pro Wrestling presents: Total Turmoil!
In the main event, “Mr. Intensity” Mark Posey takes a second stab at wrestling the MPW Heavyweight Championship away from Massive Damage. Their match at MPW Double Down ended in controversy with both men being declared the winner. Special guest referee, El Nino, counted Mark Posey’s shoulders down for three while MPW Senior Referee Kevin Laurin counted Massive’s shoulders down for the same three. That match was also one of the hardest hitting affairs seen in MPW in recent memory. What will tonight’s match bring? Will we have a new MPW Heavyweight Champion or will Massive take care of “Mr. Intensity” once and for all?
Also adding to the turmoil, we have four newcomers landing on the shores of MPW from All-Star Wrestling in Vancouver: Gorgeous Michelle Starr, Disco Fury, Seth Knight, and Raven Lake. How will they fit into all of the turmoil?
All the rest of your favorite MPW stars will be there: Nite, Tyler James, Sexy Samantha, Jack Hammer and the Canadian Tornado. You should be there, too!
