Hello MPW Wrestling Fans.

My name is the ReddHead Bulldog and i am the social media director for Monster Pro Wrestling. What we want to give the fans is a more interactive and fun experience. I come to Monsterprowrestling.com with a degree in social and digital media, so i hope to get this site to a status of being leading edge, one step at a time.

Recently i caught up with MPW Star Chris Perish at the gym after an intense training session with fellow ally Mutato. I tried to get a interview with Perish but at first he dismissed my requests. But then Mutato whispered something in his hear and he had a change of attitude on this interview

ReddHead Bulldog: Hello Chris and thank you for taking the time out of your day to speak with myself, how have you been keeping up since your win over Krazy Kore at MPW Bulletproof?

Chris Perish: I am feeling great! Krazy Kore is no challenge for Chris Perish and anyone who thought he was is a complete moron!

ReddHead Bulldog: What is on the agenda for yourself, where do you see yourself going?

Chris Perish: My agenda? Do you really expect me to tell you what my agenda is? You’ll see it when I decide to show you! As far as where I see myself going, to the top! I see myself becoming the best in this business!

ReddHead Bulldog: Alright I don¹t want to get punched, we know you’re a great talent and on your well on your way. Recently on Twitter you had some harsh criticism for Taylor Stone, what about Taylor sets you off?

Chris Perish: You don’t want to get punch yet you ask me about a loser like Taylor Stone! What sets me off is that I beat him countless times than he gets one little fluke (which is all Mutato’s fault) and then he gets title matches! I never got a title match when I beat him time in and time out now did I?

Reddhead Bulldog: Yes you did but do you think that maybe your holding back to save your allegiance with Nite? Maybe he doesn’t want you taking his spotlight?

Chris Perish: Listen here I’m going to explain Nite’s and mine relationship real quick. It’s called mutual respect! We both realize how good each other are and for that we also realize how dominate we are when we fight together. We don’t fear wrestling one another because we know we will steal the show and make everyone else in the back look bad. We’ve wrestled before and we did just that! Nite and I are like brothers, we will not take away from each other when we know we can accomplish more together. And we both have surprises coming!

Reddhead Bulldog: I won’t ask you surprises because well I am interested as well in seeing what you have in your arsenal. The fans seem to disagree with the actions of the Morning Star Mercenaries, and they are really gunning behind Tyler James in his match with Nite at High Stakes. Will there be any shenanigans by your group, are will you play fair?

Chris Perish: Listen, whether you ask or not if I don’t want to tell you I won’t, it’s that simple! Furthermore, I can care less about the fans and what they think doesn’t concern me in the slightest. As for High Stakes, on April 7 at the Alberta Ave Community Hall, Nite and Chris Perish will reign supreme. What you may deem as shenanigans I deem as strategy. Win at all cost.

Happy New Year MPW fans! It’s been my honour to have been a witness for you all to the 2011 Revolution in Canadian pro wrestling, and it’s twice the honour to have been asked by MPW management to select the Monster Pro Wrestling top matches of 2011. So pull up the edge of your ringside seat and I’ll warm up the spotlight for the strongest, fastest, most hilarious, and the singularly most profound action of the year:

“Mr. Intensity” Mark Posey v Spooky Bonanza; Christmas Cheer, December 3rd

Mark Posey has had an incredible run as Heavyweight Champion, holding the title for the entire year despite huge threats from Massive Damage and Jack Hammer. In the last show of the year, Mark felt the need to celebrate in the ring with his Greatness on Demand cronies. But then Spooky Bonanza shows up, and Nino immediately sanctions a match, and Posey finds himself falling into a Spooky funhouse of insanity and humiliation. But Posey is still at a champion level and regathers himself until a pink-hooded stranger runs into the ring, and rips off Spooky’s mask! The revelation of the person under the mask leaves Mark Posey in what must seem to be an unending nightmare!

Greatness on Demand (“Mr. Beefy Goodness” Vance Nevada/Adam Ryder/Melisha) v Fast’n'Furious (Sexy Samantha/Jack Hammer/Sonic Insania); Showdown, April 7

Mark Posey’s cronies were a big asset in helping him keep gold around his waist, and this match is a microcosm of how effective that faction is. Vance Nevada is a two-decade heavyweight veteran, but doesn’t have the raw power of a Jack Hammer. Sonic Insania has reached heights in his rookie year that Adam Ryder can only wish for. Sexy Samantha’s the leader in the women’s ranks of western Canadian wrestling, and got a big boost from an upcoming marriage to Massive Damage, while Melisha’s been spending more time bitching in everyone’s ears than backing it up in the ring. Yet, together G.o.D. knows how to put their collective assets to work in a unified direction, while the overwhelming talent in the opposite corner struggles to find focus. I wish someone would finally take their arrogant butts down a peg, but if they keep clicking like this I can’t say I see it anything other than a long G.o.D. domination in 2012. (And take note of Wrestling Legend Bob Leonard hosting the match.)

Phil Lafon v Kyle Sebastian; Fusion, February 5

Phil Lafon has waged a campaign of relentless intimidation over his peerless international career, and had ended 2010 with downright disrespectful destructions of several neophyte journeymen. When rising international star Kyle Sebastian calls Lafon out over his bullying ways, Lafon goes ballistic on the fans, on the ref, on the security detail, and especially on Kyle. But the eventual Future Legend finds a way to get his point across. This was the match that turned Phil Lafon’s whole year around, that led him to take on a new ward and partner in Sonic Insania, and in turn how Phil found redemption and rejuvenation that has been a delight for the MPW fans.

Nite/Chris Perish v “Wild Child” Tyler James/Kyle Sebastian; Tag Team Gold Rush (semifinals), April 2

Nite has been the chaotic catalyst in Monster Pro Wrestling for the last several years. First selling out his former tag champion partner Tyler James in a master tactical push for the MPW Provincial Championship, then taunting and aggrivating TJ to the point of insanity, provoking TJ to run in on Kyle Sebastian’s shot at Nite’s belt. The tag team gold rush tournament was convened the very next show, and the only available partners Tyler and Kyle could find for a champion run was each other. This was a powderkeg begging to explode from the start. And when James and Sebastian draw Nite and factionmate Chris Perish in the tournament semifinals, the rivalries threaten to tear everything apart.

Nite v “Wild Child” Tyler James v “Tattooed Terminator” Massive Damage; R.I.P.Tribution IV, November 5

The previous year’s R.I.P.Tribution III event featured an incredible Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match between Nite and Massive Damage, and MPW management slotted an insurgently-superior rematch in tribute number IV in November, adding “Wild Child” Tyler James and a recently-regenerated MPW “Ripper” Hardcore Championship shiny to the mix. After the extremes in brutality these superstars brought to this match I’m not sure the provincial commission would extend its sanction for any of them to do another rematch in 2012′s tribute number V. See for yourself:

The MPW roster let it all out in 2011, and here are my best-of-category picks:

MPW Heavyweight Wrestler of 2011 Mark Posey

Hard to argue against a full-year’s reign with the belt. Massive Damage and Jack Hammer had huge campaigns in 2011, (and Massive Damage also arguably landed the biggest prize in an April Vegas wedding), but “Mr. Intensity” turned them both away from the belt. Posey’s faction partner Vance Nevada also had a solid year plus a big Money in the Bank win in December. However, Posey’s run was a quantum level above everyone.

MPW Provincial Wrestler of 2011 Nite

Much like Mark Posey, Nite’s unimpeachable run as Provincial champion locked up this recognition even before the phenomenal victory in the TLC hardcore championship. Kyle Sebastian showed limitless talent but an injury limited his 2011 results, Tyler James was perhaps the most powerful wrestler on the roster but stumbled over his ego too much, and Taylor Stone made a red hot push into the big leagues but hasn’t yet figured out the Morningstar Mercenaries puzzle to break through.

MPW Breakthrough of 2011 Sonic Insania

Taylor Stone pushed himself to the brink of greatness in 2011, but couldn’t quite cross that chasm. Meanwhile Sonic Insania boomed onto the MPW scene after being hand-selected by Phil Lafon from the MPW school to be his new ward and partner. Kyle Sebastian broke through to earn the tag team belts in the first half of the year, but injuries had him letting his partner down and dropping the belts to Sonic and Phil. Nite’s clutch of the hardcore gold and Vance Nevada’s masterplan for the Money in the Bank contract were big moments in this category too, and wrestlers like Insane Irishman, Michelle Starr, Adam Ryder, and Bonecrusher made their own splashes. Yet nobody evolved from so little to so much as Sonic Insania evolved this year.

MPW Invasion of 2011 Sarita

TNA Knockout Sarita is in my eyes the easy choice for the year’s Invasion nod, with an impressive win over Sexy Samantha in April. Team Impact (Robbie Royce & Anderson Tyson Moore) took then-tag-champs Kyle & TJ to the limit, and Principal Pound came an inch away from stealing the Heavyweight Division #1 Contender from Massive Damage. Newcomer Matt XStatic briefly but exhilaratingly had Vance Nevada on the run. Kenny Doll courageously tried a second invasion of MPW after his first attempt in 2010 was nearly eaten up alive by a bully-mode Phil Lafon. But no one had the impact that Sarita had on the fans.

MPW Best of 2011 Nite

This category is a two-man race between Mark Posey and Nite. But Nite’s completely-stunning November win of a second belt edges him over the top. Meanwhile Posey and G.o.D. have struggled to get any footing on the tag belts or much else in 2011 (though Vance’s Money in the Bank win is a good step forward). Until someone can find a way to break Nite’s grip on the company, the alpha position is Nite’s to lose.

On behalf of the MPW ring crew, thank you all for supporting Monster Pro Wrestling in 2011. Looking back it has been a war of a year, and amazing for a wrestling fan like me to witness. 2012 is shaping up to be a real apocalypse starting with Heartless on January 14th. I can’t wait!

Monster Pro Wrestling; Pro wrestling the way it should be.

So today, I’m going to write a little blurb about two competitors that have some history. We’ve got Taylor Stone on one side: a wrestler that has been around for over a year – and Chris Perish, who has been around even longer and has the mutant Mutato in his corner. These two have had a couple of matches so far and it seems they are starting to get under each other’s skin. At Shockwave we had them face one on one, or at least as best they could with Mutato there. In that match we saw Taylor very close to winning, but when the ref took a hit, Chris Perish knew to take advantage with his quick thinking. Then at our last show Impact, we saw the two in a rematch; Taylor got that devastating finisher – The 21st Century Cure – locked in, and again going outside the rules, Mutato jumped onto ringside to distract the ref while Perish was tapping out. That, mixed with Perish’s swift thinking, caused him to win again. Now I’m my opinion this is a disgrace to the fans and to Taylor Stone, I’m sure the fans feel let down knowing Taylor almost had it and lost it when cheating got involved. I’m sure this is not over between the two and I, personally, am excited to see where this goes! I also decided to call up Taylor Stone and get a comment from him for the next show. Thank you Taylor for taking a moment to talk. This is his message, word for word: “I have suffered two consecutive losses to Chris Perish, however both matches may as well have been handicap matches. With his mutant sidekick at ringside, it makes beating him a lot more difficult. However everyone, minus the ref, has seen me make him tap out. It’s only a matter of time until it happens again and my hand is raised in the end. And since he refuses to face me alone, like a coward, I will become the equalizer this Saturday when I take out Mutato. And without his lackey to take the heat for him, he will have no choice but to stand before me alone, and accept his fate. I’m coming for you Perish, and I have no problem tearing through the man who cost me my last two matches in the process!” Fans, that makes it official, next show is Taylor Stone vs Mutato!

The next show is Stormfront on June 18, email me at MPWSmark@gmail.com for tickets to this show at a special $10 price. As the battle between these two will surely turn into a storm, you won’t want to miss this show! I’m Stewart Smark, and I’ll be with you all week getting you ready for this Saturday!

MPW: Impact

We are quickly approaching one of the biggest nights in Monster Pro Wrestling history, Impact! I’m Mark Kingout and I am here to bring you up to speed on what will prove to be a memorable night. First of all, it will be a night of champions! That is correct folks, every championship belt will be defended! ‘Wylde Chylde’ Tyler James and Kyle Sebastian have faced some pretty serious challenges so far in their run as tag team champions, however, they face their most serious challenge in their next opponents; Team Impact. Team Impact train as team, wrestle as a team, live as a team. They are two men moving as one unit, and may prove to be more than a match for Edmonton’s Wrestler of the Year 2011 and the 2011 CAC Future Legend recipient. Next, The current MPW Provincial Champion, and head figure of the Morningstar Mercenaries, Nite will place his championship on the line against and equally dangerous, demented, and high flying opponent in Mentallo. Mentallo has traveled the world, wrestling across Mexico and Japan, perfected a death defying, mind boggling style. He is Nite’s parallel and may just be crazy enough to be the one to knock him of his throne as “the best wrestler you’ve ever seen.” Last, and most assuredly not least, Massive Damage FINALLY gets a rematch against “Mr.. Intensity” Mark Posey for the MPW Heavyweight Championship! Massive has been waiting and chasing Posey for almost an entire year now, and the crosshairs have finally lined up as Massive sets his sights on reclaiming that which was his. With Greatness on Demand on hand, you never know what shenanigans shall take place, and does Massive really have Posey where he wants him, or is he playing into G.O.D’s hands? Which brings us to our MAIN EVENT. Yes, even with all the titles on the line, not a single one of them will end our evening. Instead our main even will feature Samantha taking on the two-time TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champion Sarita! These two have a storied history: Sarita first broke in with Sexy Samatha wrestling all over the Canadian Northwest before her career took her to Mexico. Their matches were intense and heated, and so was the rivalry that build. On a handful of occasions the two of them hardly made it out the curtain before the fight began, and they had to be separated backstage. Sexy Samantha is the toughest woman in Canadian wrestling today and looks forward to the challenge that the international superstar, and past rival, Sarita brings to her this Saturday! Be sure not to miss out on a legendary night of MPW action!!

by Mark Kingought

The bell has rung, and all the questions have been answered! After MPW ”IGNITION” and a subsequent title loss for Massive Damage, a lot of questions were left hanging in the balance. Would Damage be back after taking on argueably the three best athletes in MPW? Would the brutal wound to Damages head be the last one in his storied career? Would Damage have any gas left in the tank, after being outsmarted, and left titleless?

After admitting that his ego got the best of him and that Greatness on Demand pulled a fast one on him and out-thought him at MPW “RIP-TRIBUTION 3″, Damage layed down the challenge of a tables, ladders, and chairs match to a less than enthused “Mr. Intensity” Mark Posey. “Mr. Intensity” had different ideas about his first title defense, however and it was the mysterious Nite who answered Damage’s challenge, much to the crowds dismay.

I don’t think anybody at the sold out Alberta Ave could have imagined what was going to take place on this very special night! There was something in the air, and match after match had the fans at the Ave on the edge of they’re seats. Then came the TLC match, and friends, I am not kidding when I say there is a new bar set for the best match I’ve seen from MPW.

This is a huge notch in Nites belt, as he has proven that he can wrestle any kind of match with any kind of wrestler of any size. Nite is for real! At the end of the match after the use of a barbed wire chair, several uses of a ladder that I’ve never seen, a piledriver through a section of ring barrier fencing layed out on 2 chairs, a total of 3 broken tables, including the final table being set on fire, the fans all left the building buzzing, excited and talking of what a night of entertainment they had just seen. MPW continues to set the bar higher for themselves! It gives the fans exciting shows that leaves them on the edge of their seats time and time again! ”WINTER WARFARE” will be not different.

What do the athletes have in store for us on Dec 4th?????

Well, they did it.

When Greatness on Demand (GOD) first came together, they declared they were going to make some changes in the title picture of Monster Pro Wrestling. They said it was time for a change and that the current champions were hiding behind their titles. And they declared that they were the guys to change all that. And change it they did… or did they?

Yes, “Mr. Beefy Goodness” Vance Nevada & “Gorgeous” Michelle Starr are now the MPW Tag Team Champions, cheating and grinding their way to victory in the 8 team tournament in July at MPW: Total Turmoil.

And yes, at MPW: Eruption, “Mr. Intensity” Mark Posey did pin Massive Damage after an opportunistic use of his Money In The Bank contract, when Massive had just fought Starr then Nevada in a gauntlet match. Starr and Nevada then DDT’d Massive on the heavyweight belt and busted him open. And despite being bloodied and battered, Massive fought the fresh Posey valiantly — even having him pinned for more than a three count after a spear. Unfortunately for Massive, the referee had been crushed in the corner a few moments earlier.

So yes, on paper, GOD has almost completely altered the title picture in MPW in just four short months. The question is: will it last?

Massive Damage is reportedly so furious that he burns photos of GOD in effigy before breakfast, lunch and dinner. And an angry Massive Damage is not a good enemy to have. He’s not the only one GOD has to watch out for. Provincial Champion Jack Hammer, the only non-GOD champion left, has already proven that he’s more than ready, willing and able to back up Massive Damage. Add in the Guardian and there’s a three man team that even the formidable GOD will have trouble with.

Four months ago, GOD declared they’d change the title picture in MPW. And they did. What everyone is wondering is: How long will it last?

Massive Damage and "Mr. Intensity" Mark Posey share the stage with Jason Mewes at Sonic Boom 2009

By now, I’m sure you’ve heard the news. Monster Pro Wrestling is appearing at Sonic Boom again this year. That’s a huge deal for us. Last year,

Sonic Boom attracted almost 13,000 fans. Performing in front of that crowd was a real rush. This year, word is that attendance will surpass last year and that’s got all of us here at Monster Pro Wrestling very excited. Saturday, September 4th, 2010 will be a banner day in the history of MPW as we’re going to be performing in front of the largest crowd we’ve ever worked.

What you may not have heard is how much extra preparations go into Monster Pro Wrestling being at Sonic Boom. One of the biggest ones, of course, is that the regular monthly MPW show which normally runs on the first Saturday of each month (which, in September, would be the same day as Sonic Boom) has now been moved to the first Friday of the month. We’ve been having to remind our fans constantly that Legends of the Fall is on Friday, September 3rd.

Yeah, but how much extra work can just a date change and adding the Sonic Boom show cause, you ask? Well, here’s what those two days will be like for us at Monster Pro Wrestling:

The Greatest Intercontinental Champion of All Time -- The Honky Tonk Man will be appearing at both Legends of the Fall and Sonic Boom

Friday at about 1:00 PM, we’ll all meet at the Alberta Avenue Community Hall (9210 – 118 Avenue) to set everything up for the evening. Those big steel pieces that make up a wrestling ring are very heavy and take at least three guys each to maneuver. Once the ring is put together, we still have to set up the ring barriers, all the chairs, the entryway, the PA system, and the kitchen and concession area. That’ll probably take until 4:00 PM or so.

After that, we usually have a couple hours free time. Usually to get something to eat before the show. At the latest, we all have to be back at Alberta Avenue by 6:00 PM. The doors open at 6:30 PM. The show starts at 7:30 PM. Once the show is over, at about 10:30 PM and most of the fans have gone home for the night, we still have to tear down the ring and basically undo everything we did when we set up. The hall has to be cleaned and everything put away before we can go home for some much deserved sleep.

However, with the added Sonic Boom show, instead of storing the ring away, we have to haul it over to Northlands and set it up that night along with the ring barriers and whatever else we’ll need for the Sonic Boom show. It’s going to be a very long night for the MPW Ring Crew.

Come see Dan "The Beast" Severn at both Legends of the Fall and Sonic Boom

Then, Saturday morning, we all have to be on the Northlands ground for 10:00 AM. Gates open at 11:00 AM and our first match is at noon. We’ll be there all day. Our last match will be somewhere around 9:00 or 10:00 PM. Then the ring and etc. all has to be torn down and stored away. It’s very likely to be close to 2:00 AM before we all get out of there. Another very long night for the MPW Ring Crew.

Now, don’t get me wrong. We’re not complaining. In fact, we absolutely love show days. There’s constantly excitement in the air with the show only a few hours away. And with two shows in a row, the excitement and anticipation are doubly present. In fact, we’re all looking forward to that weekend in September more than any other weekend this year.

With the Honky Tonk Man and Dan “The Beast” Severn working both Legends of the Fall and Sonic Boom, it’s sure to be an extra-fun weekend. Alberta Avenue is likely to be packed to the rafters and loud as hell. Sonic Boom will be the largest crowd we’ve ever been in front of. And we can’t wait to get there. It’s going to be a blast! For us as well as our fans.

See you there!

MPW Heavyweight Champion, Massive Damage is looking over his shoulder these days with “Mr. Intensity” Mark Posey eyeing his prized belt. Now that Posey has aligned himself with the newly crowned MPW Tag Team Champions “Mr. Beefy Goodness” Vance Nevada and Gorgeous Michelle Starr, things could start to get interesting.

But first, Mark Posey will have to get through MPW Commissioner “The Sicilian Assassin” El Nino. Tempers have been flaring between these two for months. Now they’re going to settle it once and for all. Can El Nino stop “Mr. Intensity” on his way to the MPW Heavyweight Title or will he be just another stepping stone for Mr. Intensity?

Nite and “The WyldChyld” Tyler James take on MPW Tag Team Champions “Mr. Beefy Goodness” Vance Nevada and Gorgeous Michelle Starr in a Tag Team Title Match.

And he knows it.

Everyone at the June 5th show saw me pin him fair and square right in the middle of the ring. The senior referee, Kevin, counted the pinfall: 1 – 2 – 3. He even awarded me the title. It’s only through the actions of MPW’s biased commissioner, El Nino, that I’m not the MPW Heavyweight champion today. That’s typical of the current MPW management. They’ve coddled their paper champion for far too long — protecting him from title contenders who are a legitimate threat and granting title shots to lesser contenders.

Total Turmoil was a perfect example. I arrived at the arena expecting to take the title belt from Massive in a Taped Fist match. Instead, I’m informed by MPW Owner, Nelson Mayer, because of my actions at the June show, he’s taking my title shot away and putting me in the tag team tournament instead. He says the actions he is referring to were spitting on a kid and using a foreign object to hit Massive Damage. But I know what he’s really talking about — he saw me pin Massive Damage and then raise the title belt over my head as the new MPW Heavyweight Champion and it scared him. He didn’t like it one bit. So he had Nino, as the commissioner, reverse the decision and then went backstage and wiped the sweat off his brow.

And then, at the end of Total Turmoil, he has Nino challenge me to a match at Summer Scorcher! MPW management is in a flat panic. They are trying anything and everything to keep me away from the title that has been rightfully mine since June 5th. (Makes me wonder what they’re going to throw at me next.) But that tactic’s only going to work for so long. Sooner or later, MPW management is going to have to relent and Massive Damage is going to have to step in the ring with Mr. Intensity and defend his title.

And on that day, MPW will be forever changed.

Monster Pro Wrestling presents: Total Turmoil!

In the main event, “Mr. Intensity” Mark Posey takes a second stab at wrestling the MPW Heavyweight Championship away from Massive Damage. Their match at MPW Double Down ended in controversy with both men being declared the winner. Special guest referee, El Nino, counted Mark Posey’s shoulders down for three while MPW Senior Referee Kevin Laurin counted Massive’s shoulders down for the same three. That match was also one of the hardest hitting affairs seen in MPW in recent memory. What will tonight’s match bring? Will we have a new MPW Heavyweight Champion or will Massive take care of “Mr. Intensity” once and for all?

Also adding to the turmoil, we have four newcomers landing on the shores of MPW from All-Star Wrestling in Vancouver: Gorgeous Michelle Starr, Disco Fury, Seth Knight, and Raven Lake. How will they fit into all of the turmoil?

All the rest of your favorite MPW stars will be there: Nite, Tyler James, Sexy Samantha, Jack Hammer and the Canadian Tornado. You should be there, too!
