All MPW event results
To open the show, Massive Damage challenged GOD to a gauntlet title match, saying he would rid MPW of Greatness on Demand once and for all. MPW Commissioner El Nino agreed. “Mr. Intensity” Mark Posey displayed the ironclad MPW Money in the Bank contract that he won at Sonic Boom. Intensity can have a heavyweight title match anytime he wants.
Spooky Bonanza vs. El Diablo
Spooky had an issue with Diablo’s diminutive size until Diablo proved he was up to the task with some excellent chain wrestling and some plain mean moves. But Spooky dominated during the middle of the match. Taylor Stone distracted the ref and Diablo, and Spooky used Diablo’s distraction to grab him from behind, roll him up for the win.
Winner: Spooky Bonanza
Triple Threat Match
Taylor Stone vs. Adam Ryder vs. The Canadian Tornado
There were some early high flying tumbles out of the ring, but the audience seem to have been quickly on Ryder’s side. The Tornado took some hard falls and chops, and was soon tossed from the ring, leaving Stone and Ryder to sort it out for themselves. Stone and Ryder exchanged submission holds, until Ryder tapped out, leaving Taylor Stone on top.
Winner: Taylor Stone
Disco Fury vs Kasaki
Kasaki dominated the match at the start, showing superior technique. Fury attempted to control by using his superior height and weight, but unfortunate drops from the top rope onto Kasaki`s knees left him in a difficult position. He fought back valiantly with a powerful DDT after his signature airplane spin and some nasty chops, looked like he might win the match, but Kasaki pushed him into the corner and onto his back to pin him for three and grab the match for himself.
Winner: Kasaki
Phil Lafon & “Mr. Intensity” Mark Posey vs Tyler James and Nite
After their confrontation last show, Nite and Tyler James were snarling at each other right from the beginning of the match. The audience were not very happy with Mr. Intensity at all, who baled quickly when the pressure built. Lafon and Nite worked each other over, then Tyler James and Lafon met in the middle of the ring to test each other out, although Lafon was clearly the superior in weight and skill. Tyler tagged out and Nite was quickly stressed and tested by Lafon in a series of unique submission holds and stretches never seen before. Lafon tagged out and Posey moved in to wrestle with more traditional moves as he took on Nite and then Tyler; with some outside assistance from Lafon.
Lafon and Intensity worked Tyler for most of the match, wearing him down, until Nite got into the ring for payback. He managed to duck a chair that Lafon aimed at him, and Posey got hit instead. When Nite grabbed the chair to hit Posey, Tyler took it away from him. He didn’t want to descend to their level. Nite kicked the chair into Tyler’s head, and Posey slid onto him for the pin, apparently with Nite`s blessing.
Nite had more words with TJ after the match and left him laying in the centre of the ring after a double underhook DDT. It appears that Nite has many unresolved issues that will need to be discussed at later dates.
Winner: Phil Lafon & “Mr. Intensity” Mark Posey
MPW Provincial Title Match
Seth Knight vs Jack Hammer (C)
Seth Knight was accompanied by the intimidating Bone Crusher but the crowd was still well and truly on Jack Hammer`s side. The two contenders seemed evenly matched at first. The tie might have continued unabated except for interference by Bone Crusher, who tripped Hammer, and let Knight gain an advantage. Various other cheats and referee distractions let Knight pull further ahead and wear Hammer down. Hammer got his revenge though, when he knocked Bone Crusher off the apron, then Knight into a pile driver and pinned him to retain the belt.
However, Bone Crusher and Knight knocked the referee out of the ring and beat Hammer senseless with his own belt, until Massive Damage scared them out of the ring.
Winner: Jack Hammer
MPW Heavyweight Championship — Gauntlet Match
Match #1: “Gorgeous” Michelle Star vs Massive Damage (C) (with Sexy Samantha)
Several early attempts by Starr to cheat failed. The crowd were solidly on Massive`s side. However, Starr continued to cheat and use underhand tactics at every opportunity, including threatening Sexy Samantha whenever he could to draw Massive into or out of the ring or into his grasp when he needed to. Starr`s tactics gradually drained Massive.
Massive won the match with a spear for the pin.
Match #2: “Mr. Beefy Goodness” Vance Nevada vs. Massive Damage (C) (with Sexy Samantha)
Vance Nevada rushed the ring and beat Massive down, and with various submission holds drained what little energy was left in him. Massive, having already fought a hard match, had little left to fight Vance and Vance dominated the match. The few times he regrouped, Vance beat him down with cheats.
Massive won the match with a superplex from the top rope.
But Starr and Nevada DDT`d Massive onto his own belt, busting his head open, and celebrating, until Jack Hammer came to Massive`s rescue.
Then, out came “Mr. Intensity” Mark Posey who produced his Money In the Bank contract and declared he wanted his title match right now.
MPW Heavyweight Championship Match
Mr. Intensity vs Massive Damage (C) (with by Sexy Samantha)
With Massive bleeding profusely and clearly at the end of his energy, Mr. Intensity proceeded to try and pin him countless times, while the crowd jeered and hissed. Massive Damage found enough energy to stand and fight back enough to produce a few chops and the odd suplex, but it was clear he was very nearly done. The crowd were incensed at Intensity’s callousness, and even Sexy Samantha’s gallant attempt at interference didn`t seem to have any effect. Intensity was determined to have his way, despite the crowd`s abhorrence. Starr interfered on his behalf, Nevada interfered on his behalf, Intensity cheated his brains out. Finally, after Intensity’s trademark diving headbutt, it looked like the end was at hand. Massive got his foot on the rope to evade the pin but Starr shook the rope and it fell off before the ref could see it and he counted three.
Winner and NEW MPW Heavyweight Champion: “Mr. Intensity” Mark Posey
