Hello MPW Fans! I’m Stewart Smark, and I’m going to take you through the night that was “Impact!” Featuring TNA Knockout Sarita! So here we go!
Our first match of the night featured the strange and deranged Spooky Bazanza against Mutato with Chris Perish at his side to help him through the night. Spooky might be strange but he can sure fight, and this match was a great way to start a show titled “Impact” with two strong, brutal and somewhat strange wrestlers going at it. Through the match you could hear Chris Perish yelling advice to the mutant Mutato, but all we heard in response was some unrecongizable screaming. Don’t get be wrong, Mutato held his own quite well all things considered, but in the end Spooky did manage to come out ahead. The Fans were right into it, and they knew right then: this night was going to be unforgettable.
Next up we had tag team action! Phil Lafon & Sonic Insania VS G.O.D. members Vance Nevada & Adam Ryder. Now Phil Lafon has taken Sonic under his wing and you can tell – after this match, you could see he’s rising up to make this tag a big force in MPW. Vance and Ryder were doing quick tags and taking all the advantages they could take to get ahead. Vance and Ryder are definitely known for intensity and speed. Sonic didn’t miss a beat getting the crowd behind him even when it look like a bitter end to this match was coming. Unfortunately Ryder’s speed was not enough to out-do Sonic, though he fought hard to keep respect with his fellow members of Greatness On Demand. A missed move combined with the speed of Sonic Insania caused the momentum to switch. In the end we saw a devastating Swanton Bomb on Ryder, causing Phil and Sonic to take the win in this great match.
The third match of the night featured Taylor Stone going against Chris Perish one on one; of course Mutato was at his side. In the early part of this match Taylor was trying to get the upper hand and try to keep Perish down. At the show before this in the Grindhouse he didn’t manage to get the win, and he was definitely trying to overcome the odds of two against one here at Impact. After a few moves were given, Perish got the upper hand with quick thinking. Then the numbers caught up to Taylor. Whether it was Perish distracting the referee of this match or Mutato jumping up on the apron, they used any distraction they could get to cheat. Just went you thought he was down, Taylor unleashed an impressive move which put Perish into a place he didn’t want to be; a move Taylor Stone calls “The 21st Century Cure”. Quickly Mutato hopped onto the apron and distracted the ref while Perish was tapping. When the Ref finally got Mutato down, it was too late for Taylor. Perish hit his devastating finisher, keeping Taylor down for the three. He needed assisstance to be carried to the back. I can’t say for sure, but I don’t believe we’ve seen the last match between these two.
After Taylor was taken to the back for some much needed rest, Nite came out with a microphone to join his minions, Chris Perish & Mutato. He had a cocky grin on when he announced that the booked title match Nite VS Mentallo would not happen. He was sure to tell the crowd how Mentallo was to scared to face him. That’s when Jack Hammer’s music hit, and out comes a member of the Canadian Armed Forces. Hammer talked about how he deserves a title shot and got the crowd into it. Right there the match was made – Nite then accepted it, and it was on.
Jack Hammer VS Nite: and this was a major intense fight. The strength of Jack Hammer against the speed of Nite. Trust me when I say that Hammer put his heart and soul into this match. Nite was taking a powerful move and turned the tables by attacking Hammer’s legs, trying to keep the big man grounded. Nite took advantages like distracting the ref and letting his minions work on his opponent, using all the innovative thinking he could do on the fly. In the end, the crowd went wild, some how Jack Hammer defied all odds, and he stood infront of the crowd at the Alberta Avenue Theater raising the Provincal Title high. Jack Hammer had did it… or so it seemed. Nite then took the microphone and declared that Hammer did win the match, but Nite himself didn’t not declare it to be a title match. Jack Hammer tried to disagree, but MPW managment had to lay down the bad news: Nite was right, it was not a title match. The crowd was in remorse as Nite, Perish and Mutato took their leave, leaving a broken hearted Hammer in the ring with his thoughts.
Our next match of the night is for the Tag Team Titles! Team Impact from Winnipeg challenges TJ and Kyle Sebastian, and what a match this is was. Despite the fans being a little unsure of how Kyle and TJ would work as a team, the Wrestler of the Year and the Future Legend has manged to form quite the tag team. Team Impact started out great, matching Kyle and TJ early on. The action was quick, and with every move you could hear the crowd cheer or scream in dissapointment. Impact uses lots of quick tags and unique tag moves, and eventually focused on keeping the pressure on one guy. They imployed some dirty tactics including spitting on their opponents to get them angered, hoping they’ll make a mistake in rage. What was a great fight sadly came to end when Kyle and TJ hit a rather impressive double team move to pick up the win and defend their Tag Team Titles.
Next up we have a continuation of a great fued between two powerful wrestlers and a World Heavyweight Title. Mark Posey defends his title one on one against Massive Damage. From the moment this match was on, you knew there would be intensity. At the last show at Alberta Ave Mark Posey slammed Massive Damage’s head into a wall – there was revenge to be had, lots of it. This match didn’t hold alot of technical moves, but features some great power moves. Momentum was traded back and forth, and concentrated power of wills were tested. The crowd was erupting in loud cheers when Massive Damage would start mounting some decent offense, only to groan when Mark Posey seemed to derail him. It then began to look like Massive was going to finally do it, finally take what he believes is rightfully his, when Militia hit the ring. The Refree of this match quickly moved to get her out of there. Thats when Posey didn’t miss a beat and nailed Massive. Before the crowd knew it there was a pin fall. I’m sure this will not end here, and that emotions will be even higher come the up coming shows.
Now, the last match of the night, the main event. TNA Knockout Sarita facing off against MPW own’s Sexy Samantha. Two fan favorites, two great female wrestlers, what more could a fan want in their main event? This match was intensely technical, with both wrestlers showing off the skills they possess in what turned into a one up challenge. You had one half of TNA Knockout Championship Sarita hit a pin, then reversed by Sexy Sam, then reversed back, and reversed back again. Eventually they broke free of this and hit some bigger moves, which featured Sexy Samantha going for a high risk move on the top rope. That’s when Militia hit the ring again – this time to cost Sexy Sam the match – and knocked her leg out on the top rope causing her to fall. Sarita took advantage of this and hit a brutal Tiger Bomb for the win. Sarita left the ring and Militia started beating on Sexy Sam. Sarita doubled back to the ring, but Militia would have none of that and ran off to the back for safety.
That, readers, is the end of Impact’s results. There is clearly plenty of action coming at future shows, and I, Stewart Smark, will be here to recap you!
See you next time!
