The return of Chris Perish was disrupted by a very determined Diablo. Despite his attempts to cheat, Diablo managed to spray the mist in Chris Perish’s face, thus causing him to lose the match to the much faster Diablo. Bonecrusher came in, and helped do a little damage after the fact. Diablo wins via pinfall.
Newcomer Lance Romance was next up, introducing himself to the MPW fans. A disgruntled Phil Lafon came to the ring asking the young rookie, “Just who do you think you are?” A vicious beating then ensued, with no match being officially made, Phil’s message to the newcomer was quite clear, make sure you are ready, because you can get eaten up in this business! I have a feeling we may have seen the last of this young fellow.
Bonecrusher returned next, with Chris Perish in his corner. These two seemed to have made some sort of alliance. Tyler James came out to challenge the newcomer, and the two athletes had a heck of a match. James got the better of Bonecrusher in the end despite interference from Perish. Perish got Bonecrusher disqualified after being caught pushing James off the top rope. Another message was about to be sent after they beat James down, but James outsmarted the two, and pulled the old “switcheroo” when Bonecrusher tried to Vader Bomb him. James quickly disabled Perish, and put him on the mat. Bonecrusher had his back turned, and Perish took the Vader Bomb. Tyler James by DQ. Great match all around!
After “Mr. Intensity” Mark Posey refused to fight Massive Damage in the main event, Taylor Stone was awarded a title match. The young rookie gave Posey almost more than he could handle, coming within inches of winning the title on several occassions. After a hard fought match, Posey bested the young fellow with a cobra clutch after having to cheat to get there. Posey keeps the title, very solid match, suprising showing from Taylor Stone. Watch for this up-and-comer!
The main event was an absolute classic! Nite gave Massive Damage the fight of his life, nearly winning the match several times with unbelievable, high impact, and innovative maneuvers! Three tables and many chair and ladder spots later, the match ended in a finale to top anything seen in MPW. Massive power bombs Nite through a flaming table and gets the win! Not a fan sitting at the end of this one! Definitely the match of the year. It set a new standard of excellence for MPW.
