MPW Owner Nelson Mayer and Commissioner El Nino opened the show with hearty Christmas wishes to all, and a huge thanks to fans, sponsors, and supporters. They were interrupted by “Mr. Intensity” Mark Posey and “Mr. Beefy Goodness” Vance Nevada.
G.O.D. were spewing their usual garbage of how they’ve taken over MPW and they are looking for a new member. Massive Damage then made his presence felt demanding a title match, saying it was time to take back what was his, the MPW heavyweight title. Unfortuantely, Damage could not get doctors clearance, which is mandatory by the wrestling commission in Edmonton, and Nelson had to relay the bad news, much to the dismay of the crowd and Damage. Nelson did promise he had a doctor coming down, and if he were cleared, Damage could wrestle that night, not for the title.
Opener: Spooky Bonanza vs Diablo vs Kyle Sebastian. Great showing by newcomer, Sebastian! Very fast paced, quick match, with the newcomer getting the one up on his masked opponents. Winner: Kyle Sebastian
New comer Mac O’Roney came out next introducing himself to the MPW fans. Phil Lafon interupted again and laid a vicious beating on the youngster, warning the new trainee’s to do their homework and make sure they are ready for the ring or there would be a beating coming their way. Commissioner El Nino was even taught a bit of a lesson when he became a bit too cocky, and attempted to flick Lafon’s ear.
Next was Vance Nevada vs Taylor Stone. The grissled vet, Nevada, had his work cut out for him as upstart Taylor Stone, trying to make a name for himself, took on his second member of G.O.D. in consecutive months. Vance was just a little smarter this night, but Taylor Stone is really impressing the MPW fans, and management alike. Nevada gets the win, after a hard fought battle by Stone
Ladies were next, and Raven Lake came back with something to prove in a hard hitting, action packed match with Sexy Sam. These two laid it on the line and battled fiercely, tooth and nail till the very end. After both ladies shoved the ref trying to get at each other, the match was thrown out! Fantastic match, one of the best of the night! No Contest
Mr. Intensity put the MPW Heavyweight Title up against the smaller, but dangerous easterner, Kasaki! Another classic as Kasaki had the upper hand, then Posey, then Kasaki, then Posey. The title nearly changed hands several times, then Intensity went to work dismantling Kasaki, showing why he is champion. Massive Damage came out to ringside, and this really threw Posey, who paid far too much attension to Damage, giving Kasaki a window to make an awesome comeback on the champion. After a vicious tornado ddt, Damage hit the ring to celebrate with Kasaki, only to see Posey had his foot on the ropes. That was all Posey needed, as he ruthlessly bashed Kasaki over the head with his own Japanese helmet and put him in the Cobra clutch. Posey retains the title. Great match!
Bonecrusher and Chis Perish came out after intermission and began to belittle the MPW locker room. Tyler James then came out to restore some law and order, challenging the 2 to a tag match with his partner… a freshly cleared Massive Damage, complete with a doctors medical form re-instating him to compete for MPW. Damage and James went to work immediately on their two opponents until a devastating double hangman over the top rope stopped James in his tracks. The two newcomers went to work on the resilliant James, trying to pin him time after time to no avail. Finally, James got a tag to a fresh, angry Damage who went to work on Bonecrusher and Perish, and in the end, a finishing manouver reminicant of the British Bulldogs when Damage had Parrish on his shoulders, and James jumped off the top, onto Perish, and dropped an amazing elbow to Bonecrusher, got the two crowd favorites the win. Of course, Posey, and Nevada had a sneak attack all planned out, but Jackhammer came to the rescue before any real Damage could be done. Winners: Tyler James and Massive Damage
Main event was a wild and crazy one as the defiant Nite challenged Jack Hammer for his Provincial Title. An amazing mix of power wrestling from Hammer, and innovative speed and precision from Nite made this an increadible match. Bonecrusher, and Parrish came in to try and make their presence felt, but Tyler James came in to even out the odds. Unfortunately, a missplaced bat to Hammer’s head caused him to lose the match, and his title. Winner, and new Provincial Champion: Nite
